Kavango region is predomnantly flat northern kalahari sandveld, descending towards the kavango river and towards the Makgadgodi Depresion in northern Botswana.The Kavango region cover an area of 48,463 Square  Km. The Kavango region has a generally warm climate with temperature that increases very rapidly from he coldest months of June and July to the warmest month of October.

Average maximum temperature are above 30 degrees in all months except for May,June and July.The Average minimum temperature in the winter months of june,july and August are  below 10 degree. Cattle and goats dominate livestock farming in Kavango.
